Al-Shuwaib delegation visits Asian customers

Al-Shuwaib was impressed with the level of interest and cooperation that the Chinese had in further expediting this project. The project between KPC and SINOPEC is intended to be the biggest Sino-foreign joint venture in the petrochemical industry, and is currently being followed diligently by the KPI Office in Beijing.

In addition, the delegation held meetings with the NDRC, the Mayor of Guangzhou, Mr. Zhang Gauging, and Vice Governor of Guangdong Mr. Huang Longyun in which both parties had amicable discussions focusing on the progress of Nanisha Project, followed by a visit to the project site.

KPC's delegation also paid a visit to government officials in Vietnam and executives in Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) to discuss the possibility of investing in the country's oil industry.

In India, Al-Shuwaib met with Mr. Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman, and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, the largest private sector company in the country, to discuss entering into an integrated refinery and petrochemical project.

A similar discussion on potential investment was held with Mr. Sarthak Behuria, Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited. KPC also met high ranking Indian government officials, who offered their support to the Corporation's endeavors in the Indian oil industry.

KPC's new management plans to implement a strategy of growth by expanding its investments in the Far East, and securing more outlets for Kuwaiti hydrocarbons.

CEO's Asia tour showed that Kuwait's growing investments in the region are encouraged and appreciated by both government officials and the private sector in the region. It also stood as a testament to the continued cooperation between KPC and its business partners in the Far East.
