Cotton yarn production marks double-digit growth

China's production of cotton yarn production in February 2008 reached 1.0505 million tons, an increase of about 122,100 tons, or 13.15 percent from the same time last year, but down 13.69 percent from the previous month, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
China's total production of cotton yarn totaled 2.2677 million tons in the first two months of 2008, an increase of 9.97 percent from the same period last year.
Total cotton yarn production in six months (September 2007 to February 2008) of 2007/08 reached 7.9752 million tons.
