US Senators to add themselves as cosponsors to S. 796

News of the Clinton and Obama cosponsorships broke close to the same time as several North Carolina manufacturing CEOs and representatives from UNITE HERE and the AFL-CIO were holding a joint telephone press conference call to urge all candidates to spell out their plans to restore the health of U.S. manufacturing, a sector that has lost almost 3.5 million jobs, including more than 211,000 in North Carolina since 2001.
At the event, participants called for passage for stong anti-currency manipualtion legislation. The American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition also released a comprehensive report on North Carolina jobs and manufacturing in conjunction with the event.
