Filipinos just got over with their unique Santacruzan festivity brimming with adroit local designers who displayed a spectacular range of the most exquisite creations that one can ever lay their eyes upon.

The 29th Flores de Mayo (Flower of May) was hosted at Plaza Rajah Sulayman where a total of 20 members of the Quezon Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines made their first ever exhibit in Manila, of sagalas, indigenous gowns, Barong Tagalog and other native outfits.

Besides, ten of Manila's leading designers Steve de Leon, Toni Galang, Donnie Delima, Antonio Jan Garcia, Reynaldo Chua, Francis Calaquian, Danilo Franco, Glen Lopez, Pepe Quitco and Edgar San Diego took part in the event.

This fashion extravaganza was organized by the Congregaccion Santissima de Nombre Del Nino Jesus, a group led by renowned designer Ben Farrales.

Enthusiastic designers from Quezon Province also took part in design contest for the most traditional Satacruzan costume.

Creativities at display were so fulfilling that it added zest to the event. One such outstanding ingenuity was brought out by Rhenee Caparros, a Lucena City-based designer who made use of small-sized fans made from buri, a local variety of wild palm leaves, to produce a marvelous gown.

Such fresh ideas and exotic creativity will go a long way in revolutionizing the fashion industry of Philippines earning it a reputation for being a global fashion virtuoso.
