IFTH releases Innovation Report of Textile Projects

Last 14 March, IFTH organised its first Innovation Report at its Rhône-Alpes PACA Regional Division in Ecully, near Lyon.

During this event, the 70 persons attending generated over 350 contacts among industrial companies and experts.

Based on the success of this event, the Institute proposes a new Innovation Report next 27 June at the IFTH Nord Regional Division on the Villeneuve d'Ascq site.

The principle for the Innovation Report day is centred on two high points:
- a presentation of the results of major innovation projects that have textile applications:
• Leapfrog, a European project dedicated to virtual prototyping for apparel with a specific application in the module that is used to simulate costs as soon as the model is designed
• Nenatex, a Réseau National Matériaux et Procédés (French Materials and Processes Network) project on the development of new nano-structured textiles
• Avalon, a European project on the use of shape memory alloys in the textile network
• Métrologie Sensorielle, a CIFRE (Industrial Training Conventions Through Research) thesis on the use of sensory perception in the orientation and validation of innovations
• Clevertex, a European project presenting a technical-financial approach to Intelligent Textiles

- During the afternoon, workshops with IFTH experts covering nine different themes:
• Sensory analysis – odour and VOC detection
• The New Fibres
• From fibres to yarn: use and application of agro-resources
• Nanotechnologies – reality and perspective
• 3D-vision analysis: from shape to surface
• Electronic microscopy: new applications in the analysis of materials
• Consumer Health and Safety changes in the regulatory framework
• How to fi nance the research efforts of companies with the support of local governments and OSEO tools.
