Cotton was once a pride for East Texas and years after loosing its glory in this part of USA, destiny brings back the forgotten raw material into prominence, although in a different way.
A group of enthusiastic volunteers are working upon a giant cotton gin relic to reassemble its dismantled parts. What is surprising is that the team is working on the machine without having any blueprints.
This 12 ton cotton gin was the largest of its kind in 1930s and was donated to the Depot Museum in Henderson.
Today even if does not get back its functional aspect, it will stand as a master piece inspiring technicians to develop better machineries for reviving cotton production and its trade in Texas.
