Hi-tech fabrics of Singtex - biker's bliss

Singtex Industrial Co Ltd, one of the prominent fabric manufacturers in Taiwan, is engaged in continuous research and development in the area of new fashion, functional and environment-friendly fabrics.
The Company has recently developed cold resistant gloves, water resistant jacket and wind proof fabrics for bikers.
In an exclusive interview with Fibre2fashion, Mr Jason Chen, the General Manager of Singtex, divulged that, these functional fabrics are 3 layer softshell breathable fabrics. The outer part of the fabric is treated with special water repellant and inner portion with fleece and membrane; so that it can protect the body from water and wind. The water repellent is a special product developed by Singtex Industrial Co Ltd.
Mr Chen further stated that, for the cold resistant gloves, Singtex has tied up with the motorcycle gear manufacturer, Knox-planet from United Kingdom.
Another unique product developed by the company, is CoCona fabric. The sports gear made of this material is ideal to keep a sportsperson cool during the hot summer season. It is an excellent protection from harmful UV rays and quick drying.
Activated carbon embedded with yarns of Cocona fabrics rapidly pull moisture away from the skin and spread it across the fabric surface to increase the evaporation rate and speed up dry time, which results in greater comfort regardless of the temperature.
Singtex's goal is to develop advanced and functional fabrics for international sports brands from the US, Europe and Japan. The company has manufactured sports shoes, tennis shirts, hiking jackets, ski trousers, etc for the sports freak buyrers who prefer shopping exclusively for products made of the advanced material.
The company integrates spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, coating with functional and fashion designs, in order to provide customers with a complete one-stop sourcing solution.
The R&D Center of the company currently has many multi-disciplinary specialists in areas including polymer research, material development, chemical fiber analysis, machinery, dyeing, printing, nanotechnology, and biotechnology.
