PRGMEA demands garment training centre in Sialkot

The Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) has urged the government to early establish an international standard garment technical training centre besides providing the level playing field to garments exporters to enhance the garments exports with the help of skilled labor force, in this regard former central chairman of PRGMEA Mr. Ejaz Khokar stated this while addressing an important meeting of Sialkot based readymade garments manufacturers and exporters held here. PRGMEA (North Zone) Chairman Mr. Farooq Mayer was also present on this occasion.

Ejaz Khokar said that the early provision of level playing field and skilled male and female labor force was direly needed to flourish garments industry in Sialkot, as there was potential of $1 billion garments exports from Sialkot. He said that the early establishment of Garment Technical Training Centre at Sialkot would be helpful in bringing advanced manufacturing technologies to Sialkot.

He said that the provision of fresh skilled and trained male and female labor force to this industry in Sialkot was direly needed, as the PRGMEA was striving to bring Sialkot's garments industry as per the standard of the garment industry of Karachi and Lahore on priority basis through the modernization and up gradation of this industry.
