World Eco-Fibre & Textile Forum to start on Sept 12

The World Eco-Fibre and Textile Forum 2008 will discuss “Textiles And Fibres - The Untold Stories” will be held on September 12 - 14, 2008.
The conference objectives are: to promote, share and acquire knowledge on the use of natural fibers and dyes; to conserve and encourage the use of natural, sustainable material; to network among natural-material producers and the craftspeople through the establishment of an information database; to develop a marketing network; to encourage and coordinate research and study into the traditional use of natural fiber and dyes; to promote the development of World Eco-Fiber and Textile Art: and to foster cultural exchange through exhibitions, conferences, and international visits by the craftspeople.
The three day forum will have nine main sessions. It will also include an International Exhibition and Bazaar of Eco-Fibres and Textiles, a Pua-Kumbu Warp Ikat Weaving Competition and Exhibition, and a gala dinner and international fashion show.
