The Maligapitiya grounds in Kurunegala would be flooded with exhibitors and onlookers from September 18 to 21, as the Wayamba Rural Industrial Carnival will take place here.

The Ministry of Rural Industries and Self Employment Promotion in association with the National Crafts Council, Industrial Development Board (IDB) and other affiliated groups are organizing this four day expo.

Mr Manamendra, Deputy Secretary, Rural Industries and Self Employment Promotion Ministry, informed Fibre2fashion, “The main aim of this commercial exhibition is to promote marketing facilities for industries related to handicraft and textile. Along with these two sectors we are also planning to promote the leather industry of the nation.”

“The small, medium and large scale rural enterprises will be participating here. Nearly 160 stalls will be put up at the Maligapitiya grounds for the participants for displaying their products.”

This carnival is seen as an excellent opportunity by the entrepreneurs, for building new contacts and further boost their business.
