Changes at SSM HACOBA Textile Machinery

A number of changes are being implemented at SSM Textile Machinery and its subsidiary SSM HACOBA in Wuppertal.

Over the coming months the business activities of Hacoba in Wuppertal, Germany, will be relocated and integrated into the existing operational organization at SSM Textile Machinery's headquarters in Horgen, Switzerland.

The focus is on providing long-term support for the sewing thread winding machine sector. The concentration of our resources in Horgen will enable us to tap into synergies, especially in the areas of research & development, production and logistics. This in turn will translate into an improved market response and a more efficient customer service.

The relocation of operations from HACOBA in Wuppertal to Horgen is in full progress. The structures and workflow within SSM are being adapted to cover the full scope of the product range for sewing threads. Key elements like Customer Relation Management, R&D activities and production operations have now virtually all been implemented into SSM's organization.

The close links that existed between the two companies will enable a smooth integration into the current work processes at SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler AG in Horgen and as a consequence, the total restructuring process will be finalised by the end of 2008 at the latest.

The move underlines our intent to focus activities and services more closely to the specific needs of customers and in so doing providing them with the best possible package available on the market.

The new high-performance sewing thread Finish-Winder TK2/20 “Thread King2“, which has been exhibited at ITMA ASIA, is the result of the SSM HACOBA synergies and close cooperation.

In the combined 300-year-old tradition of the Schärer, Schweiter and Mettler companies, which merged in 1989 to become SSM, the commitment to textile machinery and facilities for yarn processing has always been exceptional.

In 1999, two other companies inspired by tradition joined the SSM Group.Stähle-Eltex GmbH and SSM merged to develop air texturing technology and to strengthen their leader-ship position in the marketplace. And with Hacoba as partner, SSM is able to offer a complete range of sewing thread finishing machines.
