Domestic designers spell magic at Pret-a-Porter Paris

Peruvian fashion and its designers are constantly creating garments keeping the global trends in mind and its seems that their efforts have finally paid off. Domestic couturiers have now been able to make their mark in global arena, which is evident from the fact that these designs are highly sought after by the global fashionistas.

Early this month, five famous Peruvian designers participated in one of the most awaited International womens wear fashion event, Pret-a-Porter. The exhibition is annually held in Paris where renowned fashion designers and labels from across the world take part to showcase their exclusive collections.

All the participating designers and brands had created their collections for the Spring/Summer 2009 season. The five Peruvian designers Claudia Bertolero, José Miguel Valdivia, Ani Alvarez, Roger Loayza and Gerardo Privat made their presence felt at this prestigious show .

Claudia presented her stunning garments that were inspired by the fusion of Afro-Peruvian culture and the influence of Spanish conquerors over the nation. Her garments were highly appreciated by the visitors.

Peruvian designers experimented with designs and colours that reflected their deep sense of fashion. They made extensive use of pima cotton to create garments as the fabric is regarded as one of the best in the world.

The Pret-a-Porter exhibition brings forth best designs for women who love to flaunt glamorous and exuberant garment for making style statements. Every year the number of visitors is increasing, this time nearly 44,236 spectators came here, showcasing an increase of 6 percent when compared to 2007.
