Nylon & viscose filament production slows down

According to the calculations by China Textile Circulation Association, production of nylon filament in the country registered 7629 tons in July 2008, down 1347 tons or 15.01 percent from June. This also noted a year-on-year decrease of 2017 tons or 20.91 percent.

July sales marked 7747 tons, down 1191 tons or 13.33 percent from June, a year-on-year reduction of 1770 tons or 18.60 percent.

Inventories during the month were 9744 tons, drop of 1474 tons or 13.14 percent from June 2008, and 306 tons or 3.04 percent lower than the same time last year.

July production and marketing rate was over 101 percent, up around 1.97 percentage points from previous month, showcasing growth of 2.89 percentage points from the same time last year.

National sales of nylon filament were mainly concentrated in Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces and export channels in July.

July inflow of the product in Guangzhou Province decreased 291 tons or 11.96 percent, and that in Zhejiang reduced 361 tons, or 19.20 percent. Exports reduced 310 tons, or 16.18 percent.

Inflow volume of other regions was relatively smaller. July inflows of nylon filament of Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Anhui, Hainan and Chongqing were almost nil.

Meanwhile, viscose filament production completed 13,910 tons in July 2008, an increase of 181 tons or 1.32 percent from the previous month, but a year-on-year reduction of 3620 tons or 20.65 percent, according to statistics from the China National Textile Circulation Association.

July sales scored 14,767 tons, a growth of 1725 tons or 13.23 percent from June, and a year-on-year increase of 478 tons or 3.35 percent.

Inventories during the month were 35,923 tons, down 857 tons or 2.33 percent from June, but an increase of 15,081 tons or 72.36 percent from the same time last year.

July production and marketing rate was nearly 106 percent, 11.16 percentage points higher than the previous month, and a year-on-year growth of 24.65 percent.

In July 2008, National viscose filament sales were also concentrated in Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Sichuan provinces and export channels. Inflows in major sales areas increased in July due to enlarged demand from downstream markets.
