'Quality is always in fashion' - Baruffa Yarn

The yarns appear weightless, inflated by a surge of air that has transformed them into knitwear items of extraordinary comfort, an effective compromise between “the most painstaking technique” and “a desire for naturalness”.

The secret lies in knowing how to “trap the air” inside the yarn, thus facilitating the production of voluminous knitwear whose heaviness is decreased by 40-50% compared to normal standards. These significantly reduced weights can, therefore, be defined as the expression of a creativeness that is at once capable of manufacturing compact surfaces and of devising plays on special-effects and movements.

Neutral colours that extol the high quality of the materials. Baby llama this fleece is similar to cashmere and is obtained by way of a long and meticulous process of dehairing, after which the rough fibres are removed and only the gossamer ones remain (20.5 mic.). The dehaired baby llama is as soft as cashmere, but warmer, lighter as and more durable than wool.

It is also available in natural shades and its fibres can be used in combinations with other fine equivalents to obtain a wide range of colours capable of gratifying even the most demanding tastes. Camel hair is light and pleasing to the touch. it is taken from the undercoat which moults naturally in springtime.

The most prized hairs derive from the Bactrian camel which can be found in Asia, but more specifically in Mongolia and the Persian Gulf. The colour is generally used unaltered but can nonetheless vary from light cream to dark brown. Kike the capra hircus (cashmere goat), the camel, too, has a somewhat bland outer coat, and in fact the best quality fibre is to be obtained from its undercoat.

The silky hair and the fine down are separated in the process known as “dehairing”. Since it lives in areas where there are harsh winters, the animal develops a soft and smooth undercoat suitable for use in the manufacture of fine knitwear.
