A statistical report recently released by Ministry of Industry and Trade showed that importing price of yarn in the first eight months of the ongoing year, witnessed a rise in almost all the markets with figures standing at US $1,509 – $2,531 per ton, rise of 12.8 percent over similar period last year.
During September, this year, the importing price of 100 percent polyester filament textured yarn (DTY75D/72F) from Taiwan quoted with 1.8 percent hike over August to $560 per ton. The 100 percent polyester 75D/36F yarn was quoted at $596 per ton, up by 18 percent over August.
The price of 100 percent viscose yarn imported from China stood at $6,500 per ton, soared by 4.5 percent in comparison with previous month.
The 100 percent polyester P-DTY 75D/36F- B grade yarn imported from Malaysia saw a stable price for months, stood at $1,730 per ton, equivalent to previous month and the first quarter this year.
During the period, the average price of the polyester (100 percent) HEY 150/48 yarn imported from Korea stayed flat in comparison with August, quoted at $5,700 per ton, but declined 3.3 percent compared to the first quarter this year.
Local experts forecast that there will be a down trend in price of polyester yarns in the coming times since the price of crude oil is going down at the world market.
