FCIK seeks inclusion of industrial products in trade across LOC

The Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) has said that cross trade border trade across the line of control (LOC) between India and Pakistan cannot flourish unless industrial products manufactured in the Kashmir valley are included in the list of items that can be exported across the LOC.

Reiterating their stand, they have submitted a list of 52 items to be included in the list of tradable items. They have asked the government to lay emphasis on exports of products from the state, so that the state is benefitted the most.

As of now the government has permitted exports of handicrafts and fresh fruit, the market for which is already available in India, so according to FCIK, if industrial products manufactured in the valley are permitted it will give a added boost to the local economy.

From amongst the 52 additional products requested to be included in the list are, leather shoes and jackets, embroidered shawls (Pashmina and Rafal), silken and wool carpets
