Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) has been internationally acclaimed as the toughest B-school in the world to get in the area of Retail Management, Fashion, Footwear Design, Technology, Management, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Creative Designing & CAD/CAM, Leather Goods & Accessories Design etc.

"The students are getting placed in the crème de la crème of corporate responsibilities across the domain of business expertise." said Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI.

With the final placement underway at FDDI for its PG programmes & UG programmes, this year's placements are expected to be one of the best ever. The placements for FDDI began in November and will go on till February 2009.

According to Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI, "The students are getting placed in the crème de la crème of corporate responsibilities across the domain of business expertise."

Year after year, the placements at FDDI have kept getting better. The campus placement has witnessed the presence of major international retail & footwear companies. Aryan Lifestyle (Royal Sports House), Aerens Group (Gold Souk), Siwon Consultants (Bata, Lacoste, Pantaloon, SSIPL), Tata Teleservices, Aryaman Footwear Exports P. Ltd., Matrix Cellular (International) Services Pvt. Ltd., Hures Capital, N. A. Associates and Deutsche Bank were some of the companies that selected students through campus placements.

The students are absorbed in entry-level management positions in the industry and are being offered the best pay package in the industry.

“Despite the global economic slowdown which was adding to the fear of the placements, students managed to bag diverse offers, which is mainly because of the value based education culture at FDDI," added Mr. Lakhara.

In FDDI, the students are placed through the campus recruitment programme. The placement activities are coordinated by a placement committee headed by Placement Coordinator, student representatives and faculty members.

"Despite the global economic slowdown which was adding to the fear of the placements, students managed to bag diverse offers, which is mainly because of the value based education culture at FDDI", Mr. Rajeev Lakhara continued by saying.

The success of FDDI's placements reflects the traditionally strong recruiter perception of the institute. Strong recruiter perception is the result of industry interaction that is not limited to recruitment but across a wide range of areas. A good example of this is the collaboration with industry in courses being offered on campus.

"The ongoing placements at FDDI are testament to the value that the students have been up to speed in exceeding the expectations of the recruiters", said Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI.

More companies are expected to confirm their participation. Some students have already got Pre-Placement Offers (PPO's), based on their summer internship performance.
