India ITME evolves into platform for new technologies

The function went of well and Shri Shankersinh Vaghela, Union Minister and Shri Shekhar Gulihatti, Karnataka Minister visited some of the stalls in Hall Nos. 4, 3, 2 and 1.
INDIA ITME 2008 had 744 exhibitors composed of 457 Indian and 287 foreign participants from 24 countries. In addition there were 13 industry associations (including sponsor organisations), R&D units and about 21 press booths. Thus the total participation was about 778.
The total number of business visitors has been assessed at about 30,000. As compared to 2004 the business visitors had considerably shrunk due to the economic melt down and other factors.
The exhibition facilities and utilities were of world standard and the food courts were well received.
The India ITME Society had organised a Press Meet a few days earlier and had also given wide publicity to the exhibition through advertisements in “Tecoya Trend” and the textile magazines continuously for a period of 1½ years. Hoardings, bus backs and other publicity was also organised intensively.
The India ITME Society had organised a Welcome Reception on 15th November and Valedictory Dinner on 21st November. The Department of Fibres and Textile Processing Technology Institute of Chemical Technology (Autonomous), University of Mumbai had organised a Tex Summit 2008 during the exhibition.
This consisted of international seminars on spinning, weaving and processing and technical textiles. Some of the exhibitors had also organised seminars to highlight the products they had exhibited.
