According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in March 2009, China's fabric production touched 4.623 billion meters, an increase of 1.7 percent from the same period last year and an increase of 29.91 percent from the previous month.
From January to March in 2009, China's cumulative production of fabrics reached 11.399 billion meters, a decrease of 2.5 percent year-on-year. In 2008, fabric production had totaled 52.772 billion meters, an increase of 5.3 percent year-on-year.
Yarn production recorded 1,953,300 tons, an increase of 12.3 percent year-on-year and a growth of 29.91 percent over the previous month and production for the first quarter touched, 4,801,900 tons, an increase of 7.7 percent y-o-y.
