Senate to hold public hearing on textile sector

The Chairman of the senate committee on Industries, Mr Adedibu announced that the senate would hold a public hearing on the state of the textile sector. This is expected to give the much needed boost to the industry in Nigeria.
He said that stakeholders from across the textile industry would be invited to present their views. As a lead up to the public hearing he had visited a few industrial centre's which had a good concentration of textile industries.
He added by saying that he had been appalled by the state of the textile industry in those towns. Most of them had stopped working due to a lot of problems which also included inadequate and poor infrastructure.
He continued by saying that the senate would not be a helpless spectator and that was the main reason for calling for the public hearing and inviting the stake holders to present their opinion on the depressing situation.
