British Retail Consortium (BRC) Trading has (Wednesday) announced it has begun the recruitment process for hiring a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The company is the commercial arm of the BRC and has grown over eight years from two part-time staff to an 18 strong organisation with an annual turnover of over a million pounds.
The new CEO will be responsible for managing the BRC's non-subscription income - generated through a range of services, including the BRC Global Standards and the training associated with this product safety certification scheme.
In particular, the successful candidate will oversee BRC Trading's ambitious investment and sales drive in North America. New safety legislation recently came into force in the US and the BRC Global Standards will help American retailers comply.
After successfully leading BRC Trading for the past seven years the current CEO, John Cormode, will be leaving in September to begin a Doctorate in Organisational Change at Sussex and Brighton Universities Centre of Innovation in Management.
