NITRA organises seminar on flame retardant & protective textiles

Personal Protective textiles & International Standards-
The paper was presented by representative of M/S Jaya Shree Textiles. The speaker elaborated the important European Flammability methods by screening video films. The loss occurred due to various fire incidents was also discussed.

Review of EN 471 Colour Control of High Visibility Protective Clothing -
This paper was presented by Ms Jay Instruments & Systems Pvt. Ltd. The speaker discussed classification of Retro reflective garments used as work wear and traffic safety purposes mentioned in EN 471. Various terminologies used in the test standard were also explained. He also explained the method of testing of these garments.

Standards/test procedures/norms of Flame Retarders for Home Textile -
This paper was presented by M/S Rossari Biotech India Pvt Ltd. The speaker discussed various prevailing methods and norms of home textiles. He also discussed the mechanism of FR and flame propagation. Towards the end, he explained various flame retardant finishes (such as nitrogen, phosphorous, minerals etc based) and their flammability behavior.

Developments in Flame retardant finishing of cellulosic textiles and its blends -
This paper was presented by IIT, Delhi. In this paper speaker has discussed non-durable, semi durable and durable flame retardant finishes. He also explained mechanism of these finishes.

NITRA & IIT Contribution to Protech -
Beside the above papers, NITRA and IIT jointly presented a paper on the initiatives taken by these two institutes to promote technical textiles and the work done by them in technical textiles.
