The Chairman of Adhama Textiles & Garment Industries, Mr Adhama has urged the government to evaluate the international economic agreements signed by Nigeria with other countries during the military era.

He said, some of the pacts are discriminatory in nature for the progress and economic development of the country, which were rushed in to without taking opinion of stake holders and others who could be affected by the agreement.

He also cautioned the new government of pushing through any new agreements without involving the stake holders, whose inputs could prove to be crucial, in the larger economic interests of the country.

Amongst many pacts, he questioned in particular, the various agreements entered in to by Nigeria with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and doing away with a law which stipulated that locals be given preference in foreign invested companies.
