IFCP elects officers at ICAC plenary meeting in Cape Town

Mr. Zbigniew Roskwitalski was elected Chairman of the International Forum for Cotton Promotion (IFCP) for a third consecutive term at the Annual Business Meeting of the embership held in Cape Town, South Africa on September 8, 2009.

Mr. Roskwitalski is the Executive Director of the Izba Bawelny w Gdyni (Gdynia Cotton Association). The meeting ran concurrently with the ICAC 68th Plenary Meeting. Remaining in the role of Vice Chairman is Nayan C. Mirani, Vice President of the Cotton Association of India (CAI), and Jan B. Wellmann of Bremer Baumwollbörse (Bremen Cotton Exchange) continues as Treasurer.

The Immediate Past Chairman is Mark Messura, Executive Vice President, Global Product Supply Chain Division, for U.S. based Cotton Incorporated. Jeffrey Silberman continues in the post of Executive Director of the IFCP. He is also the Chairperson of the Textile Development and Marketing Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City.

According to Mr. Roskwitalski, “I am pleased to accept this honor once again and look forward to fulfilling the responsibilities of the post, and continuing to move the organization forward.”

The International Forum for Cotton Promotion (IFCP) provides a global informational exchange that encourages generic cotton demand enhancement activity. The IFCP provides examples of ways to inexpensively promote cotton on a sub-national, national, and transnational basis, in ways that can be replicated around the world.

The IFCP was founded at the ICAC Plenary Meeting in Cairns, Australia in 2000, and represents 13 member organizations from 11 countries. The successive terms of office begin immediately.
