LA International Textile & Sourcing Fair begins from Oct 13

Market Center Management Company (MCMC), the management company of leading wholesale trade centers and trade events around the world, and GlobalTex: LA International Textile & Sourcing Fair announced its schedule of seminars and special events for GlobalTex. The show will be held October 13-15, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC). GlobalTex is endorsed by the Textile Association of Los Angeles (TALA) and the California Fashion Association (CFA).

“During the second edition of GlobalTex attendees will enjoy an even wider array of educational and networking opportunities,” said Cindy Morris, COO, MCMC. “Only GlobalTex offers Trend Labs, including directional displays and seminars presented by industry experts discussing relevant business insights. The show truly helps translate trends into business.”

Educational opportunities and special events for GlobalTex attendees will be held in the Seminar Suite conveniently located on the show floor in South Hall, Hall G.

Below are details:
Mudpie CEO and trend specialist Fiona Jenvey will conduct several seminars during GlobalTex on Autumn/Winter 2010 trends and global fashion. The presentation will include three trends of inspirational garments, prints, graphics and color. Jenvey's seminars include Women's Trend Focus on Tuesday, October 13 at 9:30 a.m.; Children's Trend Focus on Wednesday, October 14 at 11 a.m.; and Denim Trend Focus also on Wednesday at 2 p.m. In addition to Jenvey's seminars, Mudpie West Coast agent, Chris Brandt of The Patricia Brandt Company, will present a Men's Trend Focus on Thursday, October 15 at 10:30 a.m. Peri O'Connor, founder of PERISCOPE, and Stephane Vernet, president of Creations Robert Vernet, will present Print Direction for Autumn/Winter 2010 on Tuesday, October 13 at 2 p.m. They will discuss the hot new prints and art direction for the upcoming seasons. Attendees will learn about the popular colors and patterns that will be hits for the selling season.

Benjamin Moore director of future trends and design Doty Horn will present a seminar on Color Pulse 2011 on Wednesday, October 14 at 9:30 a.m. Horn will discuss the universal color trends and how these trends translate to all industries. Attendees will be some of the first to see the newest colors for 2011, launched in September 2009.
