Chinese cotton prices maintain momentum

In the just concluded week, cotton markets maintained strong momentum, when compared to the dull trends of its previous week. Textile mills fear that cotton prices would set back as, increase in yarn prices has slowed down.
After Ching Ming Festival, spring planting has gradually started across the country; spring chill and rainy weather have slightly delayed planting time in the Yellow River and Yangtze River valley.
In the reporting week, Chinese cotton price index (CCIndex328) averaged at 16,187 Yuan / ton, up 103 Yuan from the previous week and CCIndex229 averaged at 16,572 Yuan / ton, up 105 Yuan and CCIndex527 averaged at 15,042 Yuan / ton, up 100 Yuan.
