China has recently released part of cotton import quotas to cotton-oriented enterprises under sliding tariff, in order to meet the demand of textile industry, according to China Cotton Association.
International economic situation has improved significantly since entering 2010, China's economic momentum has rebounded, export situation of textile production looks optimistic, cotton demand has increased and the spread between overseas cotton and domestic cotton has narrowed.
From current situation, demand from textile sector is the main factor affecting cotton market prices. Currently higher cotton yarn price is supporting higher cotton price, but downstream support from fabrics, clothing and other products is decreasing.
