Ashgabat host to global expo on country's textile industry

On the last Sunday of May, Turkmenistan marked Turkmen Carpet Day as a national holiday. Following this, to commemorate this day, a global exhibition, 'Main directives of Turkmenistan's textile industry development' was launched on June 6 in Sergi Koshgi Exposition Centre in Ashgabat city.

Over 50 firms displayed their products during this exhibition, amongst whom were present, big producers and individual firms of the private sector of the Turkmen economy and also more than 20 foreign firms producing and supplying latest textile equipments.

These were Turkmenistan's old collaborations namely, Marzoli and Savio from Italy, Germany-based, Trutzschle and Schlafhorst, Kotam Enterprises and Engin Group from turkey and a number of firms from Korea.

A colourful fashion show was also organized by the Fashion House of the Ministry of Textile Industry and Gulzaman Fashion House. Portraying their collections, were renowned Russian designer, Valentin Yudashkin and Alexander Gapchuk from Ukraine.

During this week, Ashgabat will be host to a textile economic forum and a seminar, which will be hosted by the Ministry of Textiles of Turkmenistan on spinning equipment issues and the same will be conducted by the Rieter Company from Switzerland.
