Yeochun Naphtha Cracking Centre (YNCC), located in Yeosu, South Korea is planning to use again its largest ethylene storage tank, by July or early August. The tank was emptied and shutdown, due to a leak which occurred in May.
This was revealed to fibre2fashion by a senior company official of YNCC, that the repairing work is still under progress and will take some more time to restart the tank, but expects to restart using the tank by late July or early August.
The tank which has a capacity to store 10,000 tons of ethylene developed a leak in May and its contents were thereafter transferred to other three tanks of the company.
YNCC operates three naphtha steam crackers in Yeosu, with a total ethylene production capacity of 1.9 million tons per annum and currently all three of these crackers are operating at full capacity rates.
