Panorama Berlin has cancelled the next edition of the show which was planned to take place from June 30- July 2, 2020 at Tempelhof Airport, due to COVID-19 outbreak. Panorama Berlin brings together 800 exhibitors. It is held together with the Selvedge Run & Zeigeist, tradeshow for quality garments and the, Xoom, fair for environmentally sustainable fashion.

“Over the past few weeks, we have seen a lot of positive commitment and strong support from the industry and retailers throughout Europe, which gave us the encouragement and motivation to organise another edition of Panorama Berlin this summer. It has shown us that the wish for a realigned industry event is definitely there and we are very grateful for the direct exchange and constructive talks with our exhibitors,” founder of the show, Jörg Wichmann said in a press release.

“However, amid the further escalation of the current situation surrounding COVID-19, we have also had to acknowledge that it would be impossible to make the necessary organisational plans for such an event over the next eight to ten weeks. Without this certainty in terms of planning, neither we nor our partners would be in a position to hold a strong industry event this summer. Unfortunately, the current developments leave us with no choice,” he added.

“At the same time, we are also seeing this new situation as an opportunity to think about other constructive opportunities for networking during a time when we are all unable to physically meet up in person. We have already put together a taskforce who are working on a modern, digital product, which we are developing from our capacity as a tradeshow organiser. We will be presenting you with the first features and solutions by mid-April. Manufacturers and retailers really need this kind of exchange, which is why we want to offer them the platform and market overview they need,” Wichmann said.
