Roland DG is launching the latest model of Versa series of UV-LED flatbed inkjet printers, the LEF-300 at Media Expo which will be held from Jan 15-17, 2016 in Mumbai.

According to Roland, professionals are already using the Versa UV LEF-12 and LEF-20 printers to customise a whole range of ordinary items, transforming them into profitable personalised output.

“With the addition to the series of the larger and faster LEF-300, customers can now achieve even greater productivity,” a Roland press release stated.

Production-boosting features on the LEF-300 include an enlarged printing area of 770 mm wide by 330 mm long, which is 50 per cent more than the previous model and can accommodate items up to 100 mm in height and 8 kg in weight.

With four printheads and two UV-LED lamps, the LEF-300 enables bi-directional printing approximately 60 per cent faster than the LEF-20.

“In addition, the number of white and clear ink nozzles has been doubled for faster printing, increased density and opacity and faster build-up of multiple layers for textured effects,” the company explained.

The LEF-300 comes equipped with the powerful new Roland Versa works with a dual RIP software which includes useful features to simplify the print process and optimise results.

While, the special colour plate generation allows white or gloss data creation from print artwork and the maintained clipped position function preserves the accurate repositioning of clipped images.

“Ensuring premium high-quality durable print and reducing the shrinkage of thin film materials when curing, the LEF-300 uses Roland DG's ECO-UV ink in CMYK, white and clear,” Roland observed.

With the LEF-300, it is possible to print on a wide variety of substrates including acrylic, wood, board, plastic, metal, glass plus fabrics and soft materials such as leather and eco-leather.

A vacuum table makes it easy to hold thin and soft materials in place and the device direct prints on to a huge range of items including pens, mobile phone cases, customised corporate merchandise, signs, etc.

The launch of the LEF-300 model brings the VersaUV series into the mass production environment with a number of features to facilitate the customisation and decoration of items in high volumes.'

Features of the LEF-300 include input or output connections that support external devices such as warning lights and automated jig replacement.

Also, to maintain the accuracy and quality of print even during long production runs, the LEF-300 is built with precision parts that minimise susceptibility to changes in temperature or humidity.

To ensure the safety of users and to maintain print quality, the moving parts of the Versa UV LEF-300 are also fully encased.

The cover prevents dusts from entering the print area, keeps the UV-LED light contained and means the device can be used in any busy print shop, industrial or retail environment. (AR)
