Haryana's Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, gave approval for distribution of the compensation amount of Rs 967 crore among the affected farmers of five districts. The compensation is to be distributed from today.
Capt. Abhimanyu said that compensation amounting to Rs 320 crore and Rs 229 crore would be distributed in the districts of Sirsa and Hisar, respectively. Similarly, compensation amounting to Rs 144 crore, Rs 140, crore and Rs 131 crore would be distributed in the districts of Jind, Fatehabad and Bhiwani, respectively.
The compensation amount would be given on the basis of the rates prescribed by the Haryana Government, which were higher than those prescribed by the Union Government. (SH)
