Two Bemis products pick ISPO Textrends awards

Two products of Bemis Associates, the design and development partner for the world's lifestyle and luxury brands picked two ISPO Textrends 2016 awards.
As per a Bemis press release, while, Natural Fiber was chosen for best in category for 'Trims', Material Connexion awarded Flowfree the award for best in category for 'Polymers'.”
“Natural Fiber was formulated for natural textiles including wool, cotton, poly-blends and taffeta and is perfect for brands looking to integrate performance into their natural fibre garments,” Bemis said.
“The Sewfree product's selection as the top trim, stems from the fact that it is ideal for incorporating non-synthetics and blends into design concepts through overlap seams, fabric overlays, panel to panel and fold over finishes,” it added.
“Bemis' Natural Fibers trim is now changing the way designers can create with a classic fabric like wool as its popularity continues to grow in today's athletic apparel industry,” the company observed.
Flowfree film was given the Material Connexion award due to its innovation and unique perforation system designed to increase airflow.
According to Bemis, Flowfree allows for up to 50 per cent more stretch to garments and is 17 times more effective at wicking moisture than solid films.
“Bemis is honoured and humbled to be recognised by these amazing organizations,” said Steve Howard CEO at Bemis Associates.
“We believe cut-and-bond techniques offer global brands major competitive differentiators in terms of making garments lighter, stronger, waterproof and breathable, which cannot get from cut-and-sew,” he too added.
“These awards are validation that the message is resonating within the design community and we look forward to another year of innovation and collaboration with our brand partners in 2016,” Howard noted.
Bemis showcased both Natural Fibers and Flowfree at Hall C3, Stand no. 200 during ISPO Munich, which was held from January 24-27, 2016.
