Core inflation in July grew by 0.36 per cent from the previous month, and 4.11 per cent YoY. Out of the 11 categories of goods and services used to measure the CPI, 10 witnessed higher prices than the previous month, the group of other goods and services reported the highest surge at 2.84 per cent, according to local media reports.
The average CPI for the first seven months of 2023 increased by 3.12 per cent against last year’s corresponding period, while core inflation rose by 4.65 per cent. A significant factor was the 3.71 per cent rise in the group of other goods and services over the same period last year.
