Indian chemical & textile firm GHCL's Q4 FY21 sales up 12% to ₹821 cr

GHCL Limited, an India-based leading chemical & textile company, has reported 12 per cent net revenue growth to ₹821 crore in its fourth quarter (Q4) FY21 that ended on March 31, 2021, compared to the revenue of ₹734 crore in the same period previous fiscal. Meanwhile, the company’s net profit for the period grew to ₹104 crore (Q4 FY20: ₹80 crore).

“We are glad to have concluded the year on a positive note despite unprecedented macro-economic challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic and related restrictions. Our teams demonstrated tremendous resilience while we navigated through this phase with agility and valour,” RS Jalan, managing director at GHCL, said in a press release.

GHCL’s inorganics chemicals division’s revenue for Q4 FY21 grew to ₹531 crore (₹519 crore). While, home textiles business revenue were up to ₹290 crore (₹214 crore).

“Favourable recovery trends across key end user industries combined with operational excellence steered the momentum for year, resulting in 12 per cent gains in revenue and 73 per cent growth in profit before tax in Q4 FY 21. Plant utilisation levels returned back to pre-Covid levels supported by a positive demand scenario,” Jalan said.
