ITMA opens with extensive showcase of latest technology

Italy fields the largest contingent in terms of square metres and number of companies. It has 322 companies occupying a total of 20,150 square metres. This is followed closely by
Germany at 18,520 square metres, Switzerland at 6,690 square metres, and host country,
Spain taking some 5,220 square metres.

From non-CEMATEX countries, the four largest groups of participants are from Turkey at 4,840 square metres, India at 3,410 square metres, Japan at 2,940 square metres and China at 2,100 square metres. Sector-wise, the dyeing, printing and finishing segment occupies some 30 per cent of the floor space, followed by spinning, weaving and knitting.

Visitors from over 120 countries are expected to converge at ITMA. The show will welcome some 40 associations and groups from around the world, as they confirming that they will be sending visiting delegations.

A process show, ITMA 2011 will feature exhibits classified into 18 chapters ranging from textile spinning, web formation, winding and texturing, weaving, knitting and hosiery, embroidery and braiding, finishing, dyestuffs and chemicals, software, logistics, plant operations, recycling and education to garment making and textile processing, and fibre and yarn.

Opening hours are from 1000 hours to 1900 hours. Visitors are encouraged to purchase their ITMA 2011 badge online now to avoid the long queues at the registration areas. The rates are 85 euros for an 8-day badge and 50 euros for a 1-day badge. Onsite rates are 115 euros for an 8-day badge and 75 euros for a 1-day badge.
