Also on display is a special section from North Eastern states of India, dedicated to products made from eco-friendly mediums like cane, bamboo, coir, jute & other natural fibres, hand made paper products, alternative wood products, terracotta, dry flowers & pot-pourri & textiles made from natural vegetable dyes.

IHGF displays around 800 types of designs, styles, colours, concepts and raw materials etc. All these styles are very unique of the Indian culture and heritage and we are now finding a great potential in the overseas markets.

As per the last few events of IHGF, EPCH expects dominance of buyers from US and Europe in the Spring Fair. However, it is expected to have a sizeable number of buyers from Latin American region, Central Asian countries and Africa.

Traditional buyers from countries like Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and New Zealand are also expected in large numbers.
The exports during 2005-06 till January, 2006 (April-January, 2005-06) have registered an increase of 9.01 percent in rupee term and 8.39 percent in US $ term over corresponding period of 2004-05. It is expected that the target of exports kept at Rs.14000 crores (equivalent to US $3000 million) for 2005-06 by Government will be surpassed keeping in view the growth rate of exports.

In order to increase the share of India's handicrafts exports in the world market (presently at 1.6 percent) EPCH besides initiating setting up of showrooms at Dallas MartCenter, Dallas, USA, IEML and SEZ at Greater NOIDA, it has also in coordination with Government envisaged a Brand Image Promotion Programme to be launched to target exports of 4800 million US $ in 2007-08 and 9100 million US $ in 2009-10.

Further, to add towards technological up-gradation of handicraft sector, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, under their scheme namely, 'Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hasthshilp Vikas Yojna' has launched a separate scheme, 'The Public Private Partnership (PPP)' which aims to attract private investment in the sector on the 'Build Own Operate' model offering 40 percent capital subsidy for establishing facility centres.

In the PPP model, the ownership of assets created under these schemes will be that of entrepreneurs. The financial ceiling for setting up a new facility center will be Rs.60.00 lakhs out of which a maximum of Rs.24.00 lakhs will be contributed by the Government.
