The key findings of the Survey are:
• A majority 67% of the respondents feel that current overall economic conditions are 'moderately to substantially' better compared to the last six months. 69% of the respondents expect overall economic conditions to be 'moderately to substantially better' in the coming six months.
• 61% of the respondents to the present round of the FICCI Business Confidence Survey have said that the current performance of their industry sectors has been 'moderately to substantially' better vis-à-vis the last six months.
• India Inc.'s outlook for the industry performance in the near future is positive with 70% of the respondents looking forward to a much better performance of their industry sectors in the next six months
• At the firm level, 70% of the respondents reported a 'moderately to substantially' better current performance vis-à-vis the last six months, while 20% reported to have sustained their level of performance.
• On expected performance, as many as 77% of the participating companies look forward to turn out a 'moderately to substantially' better performance in the coming six months with 20% foreseeing no change in their performance in the months ahead.
• The confidence indices computed by FICCI have registered a downward movement in the present round. The Current Conditions Index has taken its value in the 'moderately optimistic' zone. However, the Expectations Index and the Overall'moderately optimistic' zone. However, the Expectations Index and the Overall business Confidence Index despite a fall continue to retain their values in the 'significantly optimistic' zone.
