The Draft Industrial Policy of Haryana 2005 announced by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda outlines a series of measures aimed at encouraging investments in the manufacturing and services sector. The policy focuses on the development of world-class infrastructure, promoting backward and rural areas and provides a transparent system by simplifying rules and regulations, stated Mr Jayant Davar, Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry, Haryana Chapter.
In a press release, issued here today, Mr Davar has welcomed the constitution of a Joint Task Force. CII (NR) had been pressing for this and this Joint Task Force would provide investor-friendly and hassle-free environment for industry in Haryana, stated Mr Davar.
The thrust areas incorporated in the policy, such as service sector, agro based and food processing industry, electronics and information and communication technology, automobiles and automotive components, handloom, hosiery, textiles and garments, EOUs, footwear, leather garments and accessories etc are all key areas, which create wealth and improve quality of life. Setting up the Haryana Investment Promotion Board (HIPB) and Investment Advisory Council would further help the state leverage its full potentials and attract domestic as well as foreign direct investment in the State, added Mr Davar.
Formulation of Industrial Promotion Act to create a time bound approvals and clearance mechanism and introduction of Self Certification Scheme in respect of labour laws are in tune with CII (Northern Region) recommendations and would help simplify rules/ procedures and abolish inspector raj. These are very crucial for the development of Haryana, according to CII.
