As reported by the Federal Statistical Office, the index of producer prices for industrial products (domestic sales) for Germany was up 6.1 percent in April 2006 from the corresponding month of the preceding year.
This is the highest year-on-year rate of price increase since June 1982 (+6.4 percent). In March and in February 2006, the annual rate of price increase was 5.6 percent, each. Compared with the preceding month, the index rose by 1.0 percent in April 2006.
