Cotton lint price showed an increasing trend for first two weeks of the month, officials of South India Cotton Association (SICA) informed.
In SICA market report for October to September, more than 80 lakh bales arrived during this season.
In Gujarat steady growth was witnessed with Shankar-6 quoted at Rs17,800 to Rs18,300 and V-797 at Rs12,900 to Rs13,200 per candy spot.
While in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, Deshi lots was quoted at Rs1,400 to Rs1,580 and J.34 Saw Ginned at Rs1,660 to Rs1,770 per maund spot.
In Madhya Pradesh, Mech-1/H4 ruled at Rs17,600 to Rs18,000 per candy spot and it ranged between Rs16,800 to Rs17,700 for 28/29 MM in Maharashtra.
In Andhra Pradesh, MCU 5 was quoted at Rs20,300 to Rs20,500 per candy. Similar trend was witnessed in Karnataka where Jayadhar ruled at Rs14,600, Brahma at Rs17,300 to Rs18,300 per candy spot and DCH 32 was quoted between Rs28,500 to Rs32,500 per candy spot.
