The 2nd Annual Public Conference of the European Technology Platform will be held on Thursday May 31st 2007 in Brussels at 9.30 – 14.30 hours.
A range of industry speakers are scheduled to describe their own experiences and showcase their innovations in the fields of technical textiles, unorthodox approaches to textile innovation and marketing, and exciting potential new uses for textile fibres and materials. The European Commission will present its policies and programmes to support more Research & Innovation in the sector.
This event will be preceded on May 30th by a full-day public workshop which will detail progress achieved by the Technology Platform in its Horizontal Task Groups on: • Innovation Financing (incl. results of NetFinTex project) • Higher Textile Education • Innovation and Standards (incl. results of a recent industry survey) • ManuTex (an action plan for strategic textile machinery research) • Innovation Management (incl. final results of the WebTexpert Project)
Some 300 participants from industry, academia, public authorities and the media attended last year's Technology Platform conference and we expect at least a similar attendance this year.
