Scottish Retail Excellence Awards 2007 will be held on October 31, 2007.
Retailing is always in the public eye and the sector is renowned for its enormous innovation, creativity, investment and extensive skillsbase, all of which combine to make it one of Scotland's most competitive industries. In the Scottish economy alone: • 261,000 people work in retail in Scotland, 10% of the nation's workforce, in 25,000 outlets across Scotland • Retail accounted for turnover estimated at over £19 billion in 2005 • The retail sector's performance in GDP terms has consistently outstripped that of other sectors within the Scottish economy over the last 5 years
To acknowledge retail's significant contribution to the economy the Scottish Retail Excellence Awards were established and launched in October 2006 by the Scottish Daily Record and Scottish Business Insider Magazine with the support of the Scottish Retail Consortium.
The awards pay tribute to the Industry's top achievers who have shown the vision, customer focus, leadership and innovation that exemplify the best within the sector in Scotland.
The Scottish Daily Record and Scottish Business Insider reflect a significant route to market for the retail sector. Both publications provide the strongest printed media platform in Scotland and can help raise the profile of the retail sector and associated service providers to the industry.
This prestigious awards ceremony recognises exceptional achievement in the Scottish retail industry. The evening brings together the great and the good from the industry to celebrate those individuals and companies who have excelled in the marketplace, and who standout from the crowd.
