New business relationships will be forged October 18-November 1, 2007 between U.S. technical textile businesses and potential customers in the Arabian Peninsula.
Four Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) member companies are traveling on a United States Industrial Fabrics Institute (USIFI) Trade Mission to Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. USIFI is a division of IFAI.
The Trade Mission serves to link U.S. technical textile companies with companies in countries that are eager to purchase U.S. products.
This Mission will expand global business opportunities for USIFI member companies, as the participating members will meet with potential customers, distributor, and joint venture potentials, including area business groups such as the American-Jordanian Chamber of Commerce.
Company executives from Cooley Inc, Pawtucket, R.I; Milliken & Company, Spartanburg, S.C; Outdoor Venture Corporation, Stearns, K.Y; and Safety Components, Greenville, S.C are participating in the Trade Mission. Each participating company is a member of IFAI and USIFI.
Joey K. Underwood, Senior Vice President, Safety Components, and current USIFI Board of Directors chairman, is serving as the Trade Mission Leader.
The U.S. Department of Commerce is providing assistance for the trip through the Office of Textiles and Apparel. Mary-Lynn Landgraf, Senior International Trade Specialist, U.S. Department of Commerce, is acting as the on-site advisor for the Mission.
