As we all are aware with the increasing global competition in the textile sector and increasing prices of energy (electricity, oil, coal, gas etc) it has become imperative to cut the energy costs to lower the production costs in order to sustain the market competition and earn more profits.

Also fresh water is becoming an increasingly rare commodity and calls more effective management of water. CITI feels that both energy and water optimization are urgent needs of the textile industries.

Though there are various energy and water efficient techniques and technologies available and being used in the world markets, most Indian textile entrepreneurs, especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have limited knowledge/exposure to such technologies.

Recognizing this important need, CITI and FICCI, are jointly organizing a 2-day Technical Meet on Energy and Water Optimisation in Textile Sector during 3-4 November 2008 in association with Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) ,Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India at Textile Committee Auditorium, Mumbai.

This technical meet will provide an opportunity to review current practices and compare with those of existing plant efficiencies in an effort to help reduce operating costs.

Keeping in view the latest technological advancements in Japan, the experts from Energy Conservation Centre, Japan are making detailed presentation at the workshop to share their valuable knowledge and experience in Japan's textile industries which would certainly provide international exposure to Indian textile entrepreneurs.

Also experienced speakers from various technology developers, consultants and end users will be presenting papers on different aspects of the topic. In addition, the Japanese experts have agreed to visit selected industries from participating units on 5-6 November 2008, to share their consultancy experience.

May we, therefore, request you to forward nominations from your organization and reap the multiple benefits. The last date for receiving nomination is 24th October 2008. The delegation fee and other details are attached.
