Jharcraft to sell handicrafts at petrol pumps

The Jharkhand industries department is planning to sale handicrafts, handloom and silk products through the petrol pump network of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL). For this, the department is intending to tie-up with HPCL.
As per the agreement, Jharcraft, the marketing agency of the department will get space at company's petrol pumps, at subsidized rates from the company, which will provide the space to Jharcraft according to its choice.
It will offer space to Jharcraft at 18 locations in cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, and Ahmedabad to set up their outlets, informed, a Jharcraft official.
These outlets at various locations will display handloom, handicrafts and silk products produced by the weavers and artisans of Jharkhand. This agreement will present a substantial market to these weavers and artisans, besides providing business to the handicrafts industry in the state.
Jharcraft markets these products through its six outlets in Delhi and one each in Ranchi and Bangalore. To market its products in the US and the UK, Jharcraft has tied up with Murarka Organic Pvt. Ltd, Needle Point and Alenkrita Associates too.
