Amazon Inc announced plans to open an approximately 900,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Plainfield, Indiana. Amazon will create hundreds of full-time and seasonal jobs at the facility this year.
The Plainfield facility will be Amazon's fourth fulfillment center in Indiana, bringing its total footprint in the state to more than 3 million square feet. Amazon currently operates two fulfillment centers in Whitestown and Plainfield, and recently opened a new facility in Indianapolis. The company employs thousands of people in these facilities.
"We're hiring hundreds of people to work at our two new Amazon facilities in Indiana," said Dave Clark, vice president, Amazon North American Operations. "We're expanding in Indiana because Governor Daniels and other state officials have demonstrated their commitment to Amazon jobs and investment."
Amazon is currently recruiting candidates for full-time hourly jobs at its Indiana facilities. Full-time hourly openings include roles in Picking, Packing and Receiving/Shipping. Management roles include positions in Operations, Safety, Human Resources and Technical Support.

The new facility is expected to be complete this summer. Amazon's fulfillment centers in Indiana are operated by Amazon.com.indc LLC.
This year, Amazon has announced plans for new fulfillment centers in Washington State, Indiana, South Carolina and Tennessee, in addition to expansion of an existing fulfillment center in Phoenix, Arizona.
