Jan-Paul de Vries, currently Business Group Director of DSM Composite Resins, has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer and Corporate Vice President Communications as of 1 November of this year.
In this position he will succeed Bernard van Schaik, who has decided for personal reasons to pursue his career outside DSM as of the same date.
The role of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) within DSM has been established to support the implementation of DSM's strategy Vision 2010 – Building on Strengths. One of the key drivers in this strategy is market-driven growth and innovation. The CMO will focus on accelerating market insights to support DSM's growth drive. Activities comprise the development and implementation of best practices and management development programs and training for marketeers amongst other projects. The CMO reports to the Managing Board.
Jan-Paul de Vries has worked for DSM since 1984. He held various positions in the company, including several management positions in the area of marketing and sales, Director Marketing at DSM Coating Resins, Business Unit Director of DSM Desotech and Business Group Director of DSM Composite Resins. Mr De Vries studied chemical technology and has an MBA from Groningen University.
