Dr. Ashley Allen, currently President and Chief Operating Officer of Milliken & Company, has been elected also to the position of Chief Executive Officer effective January first!
"Ashley has spent his entire career with the Company and rose to be President of the Chemical Division and then to the position of Chief Operating Officer in 2002.
In an era when so many companies go outside to pick a new C.E.O., it gives Milliken's Directors and me strong confidence that our long-term policy of careful recruiting, continuing education in Milliken University, and cross promotion is working," said Roger Milliken, long-time C.E.O., who made the announcement and will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Office of the Chairman.
To succeed Dr. Allen as Chief Operating Officer, the Board of Directors has promoted Dr. Joe Salley, who currently serves as Division President of worldwide Performance Fabrics. He has also served in Milliken's Chemical Business and as President of the Milliken Research Corporation.
Milliken's rich history of technological innovation has resulted in more than 2,000 patents and the development of the largest textile research center in the world. Milliken makes a variety of fabric, yarn and chemical products that keep astronauts safe, make major league baseball players comfortable and adorn homes and businesses around the globe.
