Woolmark fashion show welcomes winter

The chill is already in the air and it is the right time to welcome winter with wool. The Woolmark Company organized 'Wool 2007' a fashion event specially designed to showcase the latest development in fine merino wool for the coming winter season.

The open air ramp in the beautiful lawn of Australian High Commissioner's residence in Delhi set the ambience right to celebrate the fashion in wool.

H. E. Mr. John McCarthy A O, the Australian High Commissioner in India and Ms. Brenda McGahan, Executive Director of The Woolmark Company grace the occasion and emphasized the importance of India for Australian wool, which is the best in the world for apparel. Presently India is the third largest importer of Australian wool.

Dr. S. K. Chaudhuri, Regional Director of The Woolmark Company welcomed the gathering and said “The theme of the show has to be internationalism and innovation. These components of the business are essential for our survival and prosperity”.

"Ms. Brenda McGahan has specially come all the way from Australia to witness the show, which is the only one in wool & woolens in the country.”

“She categorically stated that the Australian Merino wool is the best in the world and it gives the consumer the right value for the money they spend."
